I KNOW VERY LITTLE ABOUT GUITARS, BUT HERE IS WHAT I WAS TOLD ABOUT THIS GUITAR, BY A LOCAL MUSIC SHOP.
THIS GUITAR WAS MADE IN THE LATE 1970S -1980S BY A COMPANY NAMED FAIRMONT, THAT MADE VERY NICE QUALITY GUITARS. I BELIEVE THIS GUITAR HAS A SPRUCE TOP, AND A ROSEWOOD BODY. THIS GUITAR CAN SELL FOR AS MUCH AS $400.00 IN GOOD CONDITION. I WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE OWNER OF THE MUSIC SHOP, THAT THE DAMAGE ON THE GUITAR, SHOULD NOT AFFECT THE GUITARS PERFORMANCE.
SO NOW THAT WE HAVE DETERMINED WHAT IS RIGHT WITH THIS GUITAR, ALLOW ME TO TELL YOU THE KIND OF TLC THIS GUITAR NEEDS TO BRING IT BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL SPLENDOR. I CAN TELL YOU ONE THING FOR CERTAIN, THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF GUITAR PARTS ON E-BAY FOR VERY REASONABLE PRICES. THE GUITAR CURRENTLY HAS 4 GOOD TUNING PEGS MADE BY GROVER. SO YOU WILL EITHER NEED TO REPLACE 2 TUNING PEGS. OR REPLACE ALL SIX. YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE NUT ON THE NECK OF THE GUITAR (VERY INEXPENSIVE PART) ONE OF THE PINS IS MISSING ON THE BRIDGE , AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. YOU WILL NEED A PICK GUARD TO REPLACE THE ONE THAT IS MISSING. THERE ARE MINOR SCRATCHES ON THE BACK OF THE GUITAR. YOU WILL NEED TO INSTALL 6 NEW STRINGS. THERE WAS A LEFT PICK GUARD AT ONE TIME, AND THE GLUE FROM THAT PICK GUARD WAS ON THE GUITAR. I WAS ABLE TO GET MOST OF IT OFF (THATS ABOUT AS MUCH AS I KNOW ABOUT GUITAR RESTORATION) THERE IS STILL GLUE THAT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED.
