Tophat Club Royale 20 Amp


⭕ TopHat Club Royale Combo Amp in mint shape...studio use only...no marks on it and no issues at all! This is true point to point hardwired.

This has a pair EL84 power tubes, for about 25 watts output.
There are low and high input jacks, and the volume knob has a pull-boost option.
Amp sounds fantastic, with lots of tone options, and has enough kick for small/medium gigs.

There is a brand new Jensen C12K 8 ohm, 100 watt speaker installed. It has maybe 3-4 hours use at most on it. It gives the amp a nice solid low end, while also adding some chime to the highs...very vintage sounding, a nice fit for this amp.

This is one of the very early script logo models, made in 1997.

The amp went back to TopHat in 2008 for an new, upgraded quality power transformer, and Brian also specd up the amp by tweaking some of the circuit to match his later models. The amp has seen only very little studio use since then, so it is in great shape. The new power transformer changed the fuse value from 2A to 1A, which is now marked on the faceplate, but Brian said a 2A fuse is also fine.

Currently there is a blackplate Ken-Rad 5Y3 rectifier tube, but the amp can also use a GZ34/5AR4 for some harder kick.

There is also a ground-lift toggle switch in the back, which is great if you encounter any ground loop issues in your electricity.

These early script logo TopHat amps are rare, and dont come up often. This one is mint, and sounds superb.
