The only ones I did find sold for $1800-$2400 in about the same or worse condition, ten years ago. Made in 1970, it is the same cab The Rolling Stones used on their Summer Of 69 tour for both guitar and bass. When I called Ampeg to get some info on it the tech I was talking to interrupted me mid-sentence saying, where did you find that...
I bought it from the original owner about a year ago. 300W @ 4ohms but was made for a tube head, so with SS heads itll take more than that. I thought it sounded awesome with the few Ampeg guitar heads I put on top of it. I think thats s what its more oriented for. Imagine this on stage instead of your Marshall half-stack... Youre sure to get some compliments, I did.
It sounds good with with my Ampeg bass heads as well but I wouldnt recommend a 5-string, drop tuning or active electronics. They werent around back then so its not designed for that. Let me know if your interested, Im not in any rush to get rid of it.
