351 Lb German Krageloh Anvil, Side Shelf & Upset Block - 2275 OBO - Tools - By Owner - Sale


⭕ **Located in Austin but can meet halfway to San Angelo**

An uncommon Krageloh anvil out of Schalksmuhle Germany, 351 lbs, very good condition, 5.5 face, forge date unknown (the company was founded in 1817, and the latest date Ive seen is 1940). This is a very neat anvil with a unique profile, slightly raked forward. Single horn with a thick waist, upset block and side shelf. Excellent rebound. This one does have some wear but is great value for the money. One advantage to the German single anvils vs. English/American ones is that the hardened steel face goes across the top of the horn.

The Krageloh maker mark is still visible, with a crown atop a circle with initials in it. The No 5 most likely refers to the pattern number. A workhorse of an anvil by a hard-to-find maker.

Priced for scarcity and condition - $2275 or make an offer. While this anvil is an antique and will continue to increase in value, it is also a tool that is ready to be put back to work.
