YAMAHA FG-230 RED LABEL GAKKI, 12 STRING ACOUSTIC, 1968-1972


⭕ All original YAMAHA FG-230 RED LABEL 12 String Acoustic guitar. According to YAMAHA this vintage FG-230 was made between 1968-and early 70s in Japan. These guitars made at the Nippon Gakki plant in Japan, prior to Yamaha moving production to China are very high quality guitars. They are basically copies of Martin flat tops. This guitar shines like almost new! Seriously! There are very minute dings normal wear. No cracks. Incredible condition for a 50 year old guitar! This Serial number reads either i111427 or 1111427? Either way it is only a 7, or minus the i a six digit number. Most are 8 digits making this very unique guitar. The Red LABEL means, as it says on label, a NIPPON GAKKI highly sought after model! Has Made in Japan sticker on headstock reverse.

The action on this is a little high for me and could probably use a good setup by a qualified luthier or technician. I chose to leave as is in complete original shape for vintage reasons.

This Yamaha has a very rich full sound.

Spruce Top with Mahogany sides and back.
Mahogany Neck, Rosewood Fretboard
White binding, Open Back machine/tuners.
