⭕ Whittling down my private collection of Saxophones. I actually play sax and have recently taken these to weekly open mic nights to make sure they are ready to play. If you are looking for pretty saxophones - you are not serious about playing long. Your best saxes are vintage saxes. They dont dent as easy; have a bigger, throatier sound; and dont depreciate unless you totally abuse one. Todays student horns are junk in my opinion unless you spend $1500 plus. NOT all Yamaha/Selmer/Conn/Bought out/Copied saxes are the same. Also be cautious of needing repair horns. Just a decent re-pad and adjustment is $300 and up.
First is a Bundy 20A student sax in very good playable condition. Stenciled from the vintage Buescher Aristocrat. Nice tone for a student+ horn. Has the hardened epoxy gold finish (Most were just lacquered and by now wore off). Which, Selmer put on this sax knowing young beginners probably wouldnt be gentle lol. It will come with its original hard shell case, a brand new neck cork, new Bundy mouthpiece/ligature/cover and a reed guard. $450.
Second, is a Bundy II tenor sax. I used this as a backup any time my main one was getting freshened up, in-climate weather, or outdoor jam sessions. Has a little corrosion at the Eb bell key guard from sitting in the case, but doesnt hurt the sound/playability. Some light wear from fabric rub and light scratches. Comes with its original hard shell case. But all in all, a nice looking/playing sax. $700
Third, I am only selling because I have a fondness for Vito, King and my Big B saxes and would like to use the money to restore a couple other vintage horns I have. This is a 1925 Conn New Wonder Chu Berry Artist Special. Serial number M161520. Intricate engraving of a flapper girl, with a drop brim Poke style hat. She is surrounded by a ribbon and a bow. Also, has intricate floral engraving, throughout the bell area. Beautiful dark tones with any mouthpiece, (But my stainless Berg Larsen 110/2 really projects that sound -- not included). It comes with the original, dark brown, faux alligator skin case (showing its age)! Has an older re-pad with plastic resonators. I still play it most every week. $4000. (I have been offered $3400) I have a few more saxes and will post them once meet my approval for playing condition. To include a couple C Melody saxes. I do not have any Marks, Dynactions, Committees or Bueschers for sale.
