Kawai KG-5C 6'8'' Grand Piano


⭕ Update: One highly skilled local pianist/teacher/technician has already inspected this piano, and will recommend it to some of his students. He agrees that it is very unlikely that youll find a better piano at this price, and he made that judgement before I replaced the bass strings and spent several hours voicing the hammers.

I think this piano was built in 1966. The serial number is 1048158. Ive owned it for around 12 years. It is in overall good condition, holds a tune well and the regulation is good. The bass strings are new and the tone of whole piano is rich and very dynamic.

This model was quite popular, and being a larger model it is of the highest quality. This is typical with other top brands also, as the bigger the piano, the more serious and demanding the owner tends to be. It appears the average price for a used KG5 is around $8,000 to 10,000 from private sellers. Most stores seem to want 12k to 15k. Im asking substantially less than that for a quicker sale, and because the piano is not furniture quality. There are no major gouges or scratches, and nothing is broken, but its had its share of little bumps and bruises. However, the finish is still pretty nice and gives a good impression without close inspection.

The piano presently sits on a moving spider, but I have the original casters as well. If you want the spider, Ill sell it for $200.

Please come look at it and play it as much as you want. It comes with a custom fitted vinyl quilted cover.

I can post more photos for anyone who wants to see them, and of course Ill answer any questions about the piano if I know the answer.
