Ramp is on the driver side for logging-landing staging areas. This also gives you unload break control with your front break lever. Duh right? Why would you have the ramp off the passenger side?
Ramp doubles as a Tire-lock to keep your bike from jumping out on rough roads so you can finally drive faster since you are an hour later than you told your wife. . . I know, I understand. Ramp keeper allows you to drive around with an empty carrier (I dont know why) and keep your ramp attached instead of having to put it in the rig or strap it on some how.
Track narrows as the front tire reaches the end to keep it from moving around.
This ramp can hold any weight motorcycle. Harleys, Goldwings, etc., that have 4 of ground clearance may not be able to make the ramp transition. In this case, sell your slow, overweight machine and consider, say, a KTM 990 or a Triumph Tiger or a BMW F800 so you can ride over a bump or two because you are missing out in life.
This rack is not light. You may not be strong enough to lift it. If you can pick your dirt bike up off the ground, you will do fine with this rack. It weighs about 75lbs because it WONT FAIL YOU!!
