Kentucky Kreations is privileged to offer Amish made reclaimed barn wood products. Our product line includes several varieties of wood flooring, wall board, trim, tin, old sawn and hand hewn beams, fireplace mantles and decor. And, if we dont have it we can probably find it or make it for you! Remember that reclaimed means eco-friendly--- by reusing old building materials and not cutting down more forests. We are a small husband and wife business that has partnered with an Amish sawmill that produces our wood products without the use of any electric. Every piece of flooring is personally handled and inspected by the Amish. Its hard to beat the quality of the reclaimed barn wood products that we offer. You can depend on knowledgeable, friendly, personal service from Kentucky Kreations. We manage our business using an old-fashioned approach. . . no fancy (impersonal) web site, a real person answers the phone (and you dont have to press #1 for English) and we accept cash or personal checks (no credit cards.) Using the old-fashioned sales approach allows us to keep our prices as low as possible. We offer quality made products at competitive prices. Unlike some other flooring companies, we arent afraid to list our prices in our ad. Depending on location and project size, there is the option of our professional installation services. Reclaimed Barn Wood Flooring
The Amish reclaim barn wood from tobacco barns and outbuildings in Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Indiana. Wood flooring planks are milled with back relief and are tongued on one side and grooved on the other. The flooring is three-quarter-inch thick, except for the chestnut which is 5/8 thick. Each plank is end trimmed. All flooring is kiln dried which eliminates odor, insects and most moisture (6% to 8%) to help prevent shrinkage after installation. Many wood flooring manufactures only kiln dry to 10-12% moisture content.
Our beautiful reclaimed barn wood flooring will have some old worm holes, surface cracks, nail holes and knot holes that give the wood that old patina appearance but that does not take away the floorings durability and beauty. In fact, it adds to the natural beauty of the wood. Once the flooring is installed, it requires a light sanding and sealer.
Our flooring is available in a smooth or skip plane top surface. Skip plane shows the saw marks and some of the old barn wood patina. We sell AUTHENTIC reclaimed barn wood flooring! Beware of sellers that cant give you this guarantee. Flooring orders are custom made and there is a wait time. We ship nationwide. Give us a call and we will be happy to answer any questions. Old sawn and hand hewn beams can be purchased gray straight from the barn or we can restore & finish them for you. We make custom mantles from old sawn or hand hewn beams of all sizes. In situations where weight is an issue, we also offer custom made hollow beams that are easy to install. Matching corbels are available. We can also customize modern LVLs and beams to look like old sawn or hand hewn beams--- giving new built homes a rustic, primitive appearance.
