⭕ Kriska was born May 13th 2015 in a litter of 8 to Montana Mangalitsa in Red Lodge, Mt. She was originally purchased for $1200.00 as a weanling. She is very friendly and will take treats from your hand politely. She loves to have her tummy scratched and will roll over for a good brushing.
She was AI bred for her first litter that was farrowed on 1/2/17. She has been AI bred to a swallow bellied Mangalitza Boar for her second litter and is due to farrow again in June.
If you are interested in breeding to a Mangalitsa boar I would be happy to help you get started with AI practice and the contacts for semen. Also will include what I have left of my Matrix (although you should not need it if you time her cycles correctly), the insemination rods, and the semen (wine fridge) if you are interested.
Mangalitsa are a beautiful, friendly, slow growing, heritage breed of pig that is just starting to make an appearance in the US. The breed was originally developed in Hungary and has been imported to the US with very limited lines. They are furry like sheep and do extremely well in the Montana winters with very little care (aside from the occasional belly scratch). These pigs produce a high quality lard that bakers and chefs alike are using for the extra flavor and exquisite taste. Make sure that you are getting the quality pigs your money deserves and be a part of the start of Mangalitsa breeding in the US. I have studied and asked questions from a great deal of important importers of the breed and I am also happy to share my knowledge with whomever gives her the home she deserves.
She would make a great addition to any farm and I hate to let her go, but I have lost the lease for her current home and need to move on as the owners are selling- my loss is your gain!
