The 2017 Sales Season is underway and we couldnt be more excited as 2017 has started off with some great litters. At Schmitt Brothers ShowPigs, we are working hard to introduce some great genetics and impressive livestock to Washington State. We would like to thank all of our friends, customers, and acquaintances for their support and encouraging words. We currently have over 11 females producing for winter litters and we are expecting our biggest crop yet! If you have any questions, please call or text.
3x Litters are on the ground now with more deliveries expected weekly. Our farrowing dates range from Feb. 3rd thru March 6th. These show pigs will target fair dates ranging from early August - late September.
******* Now accepting deposits for selection order. *******
$75 dollars for deposit in cash, check, or credit card are accepted. This guarantees your position on selection weekend in April. We are expecting a minimum of 80 piglets to choose from. As your deposits arrive, you are assured your pick order. You will need to be at our site during that time to select your animals. If there is a conflict with your schedule, we can choose and reserve your animal. The balance is due as you leave our site. Total cost is $260 ( includes your deposit )
At ten days of age the piglets are introduced to Purinea Honor Show Chow® PRELUDE® 209 feed as a creep until they are weaned. Once they are introduced to the nursery, we move them to Purinea Honor Show Chow® PRELUDE® 309 feed. When the piglets leave with their new owners we recommend feeding Purinea 309 until it is time to move them to your selected grower feed.
We do not notch ears or tails. Our herd is still small enough to track the animals to their dame. Piglets will have their iron treatments and will be vaccinated 2X with RhiniShield TX4 Swine Vaccine by Elanco Animal Health. As they leave the farm we will worm piglets with Ivermectin ( Highly effective against roundworms, tapeworms, and lungworms ), effective for 40 days.
Our foundation herd females are from Shipleys Swine Genetics in Ohio, Kilmers Hampshires in Indiana, and Wehmer Farms in Indiana.
The Sires for our Spring litters are from Shipleys Swine Genetics in Ohio, Schaffers Gold Rush in Indiana, and Ottenwalter Showpigs in California.
We know we cant guarantee your FFA or 4H student a purple ribbon, but we will do our best to give him or her a fighting chance to impress those judges. Genetics, good feed, stressless upbringing, and exercise are all important to getting their project into the final marketing drive.
