Ground Beef - Farm & Garden - By Owner - Sale
At Down Home Farms we raise Belted Galloways on our 90 acre farm in Morrow County. The animals are born and raised on green pasture and raised with their families. We do not feed grain and there are no feedlots here. The cattle have fresh pasture to graze on all summer and eat farm raised hay in the winter. They have fresh water available at all times and each one has a name!
Large confinement farms feed their cattle low levels of antibiotics to promote quick growth and to prevent illness from living in close quarters. We do not use hormones or subclinical antibiotics on our animals. In fact, we have not had to administer antibiotics to any of our beef animals!
We also care about the environment and have installed several acres of wetlands on our farm along with other improvements. In fact we were even recognized as Morrow Countys 2012 Cooperator of the Year for our work.
We are currently offering bulk ground burger from the whole cow (meaning roast and steak meat is included) in 1 lb packages. It is $5/lb if you buy 20 lbs. Our grass fed steers are processed at Links Country meats, a USDA inspected facility.
