VINTAGE UNIVERSITY SOUND MA-25 HORN DRIVER -- TESTED AND GOOD!


⭕ This is a 1950s vintage University Reflex MA-25 horn driver from the former University Loudspeakers Company in White Plains, NY. I have a specifications sheet that goes with it.
•Continuous power -- 25 watts
•Frequency response -- 90-6000 cps.
•Voice coil impedance -- 16 ohms
•Diameter overall -- 4 1/8
•Length overall -- 3 ¾
•Weight -- 3 ½ lbs.
It tests ok (see the picture) and the overall condition is good with minor chips in the paint work. I enjoy learning about the items I find so for fun I have also added a copy of a patent for a reflex type loudspeaker for University in 1952 and a small article about the acquisition of the company by Ling Electronics. The company started out in White Plains New York, was purchased by Ling Electronics in 1959 and merged with Altec Lansing another subsidiary company. University was then moved to Oklahoma City along with Altec. There have been many other purchases and mergers through the years including Telex Commutations who also owned Electro-Voice but theres not enough space to go in depth. This horn driver was manufactured by the original University Loudspeakers Inc. when they stood as their own company which makes it a fascinating antique as well as a functional piece of sound equipment.
