Digital Police/Fire/Rescue Scanner For Sale


⭕ I am selling my Radioshack Pro-2096 digital police/fire/rescue scanner. I originally bought this thing about two years ago for my girlfriend to listed to me at work when I was a 911 dispatcher. I no longer work at that job and am no longer with her, so I have no use for it.

**Please note this is a DIGITAL scanner ONLY! If the agency you want to listen to uses analog radio, then this scanner is not for you. I know for a fact that Waynesboro and Augusta County still use analog radio systems, so this will not work for them. I know for a fact that Staunton and Nelson County are on digital systems. My dispatching job was in Nelson and it already has all of the Nelson frequencies programmed into it, so youre in luck if thats the agency if you want to hear. All other agencies, I do not know if they are using analog or digital. It is up to you to find out if your agency is on a digital or analog system. I will not accept a return because someone failed to check and learned the scanner isnt compatible with their agency following sale.

The range on the scanner isnt the greatest with the current antenna on it. I used to live less than a mile from Nelson Countys main repeater in Lovingston and the reception was really finicky. I had to put tin foil on the antenna and play with it and reception eventually came through loud and clear. I would HIGHLY recommend getting an outdoor antenna to improve reception. I unfortunately cannot offer any information on how to work or program this thing. I bought it from a deputy who was a radio enthusiast and he set up everything for me before I bought it. I can get the users manual off the web and provide it to you, however. You can find your agencys frequency numbers on websites such as radioreference.coms frequency database but I dont know how to program them in.

I am somewhat flexible on price but firm overall.
