1900's Pet Doll Shoulder Head


⭕ 1900s Pet Doll shoulder head

This is a large c.1899-1902 Pet Name china head doll Esther, produced in Germany by Hertwig for the US distributor Butler Brothers. The pet name dolls were on the market up through the 1930s however, they only used the name Esther on their series of pet name dolls between the years of 1899 -1902. The name Esther was dropped after that.
The back of this doll is marked Patent Appd. For Germany. Condition is good. The shoulder head has only very slight hair color wear in back. There a crack at the right sholder (see picture). The petticoat is a bit aged in color
If you collect the pet name series of china head dolls, this is one of the nicest examples I have come across. The condition is good, the modeling is nice and crisp.
