This Collection features includes all studio recordings made by Rubinstein, four previously unreleased recordings and over 200 recordings on compact disc, and also includes two live recitals and two special discs, which contain unreleased recordings and interviews. This will be accompanied by specially commissioned liner notes and a hard-bound collection book featuring additional essays, interviews and photographs. Each CD is enclosed in a sleeve/book-like cover with an attached booklet.

The CDs are presented in small books containing the CD(s) with text about the CD, the pieces played, and a short history of Rubinsteins playing the pieces on the CD. Includes a hard bound 376 page color illustrated hard-bound book. This is a highly acclaimed set that has received the highest reviews, usually 5 stars out of 5.

This used, OUT OF PRINT set is in EXCELLENT condition. U.S. Seller. It is a highly sought after limited-edition vol. 01-82 (94-CD), with a lavisly illustrated book in a case as pictured. The set retailed for $1,600. BMG / RCA has collected all of the approved studio recordings of Rubinstein (including 200 or so that have never been on CD) and added a handful of previously unreleased recordings and some interviews. The lot has been remastered for this collection using the latest technology (RCAs disc-and-a-half ampler actually showcases some of the more dramatic remasterings). The remastering, particularly in the earlier recordings, must be heard to be believed. The packaging, documentation, and liner notes are all first class. You get a lavishly illustrated book with essays and photographs and a nice case to store the works.There are 706 recordings of 347 pieces played by the same great pianist. Rubinsteins three complete cycles of Beethovens concertos , His Chopin cycles, and other wonderful piano works are here. Its easily one of the most impressive and comprehensive box sets that classical music has seen: a true career overview with excellent remastering and handsome packaging that reflects the collections price tag. One reviewer states RCA has been purchased by Sony Classical, only 200 copies of the full box were manufactured and it is no longer available.
