Mercruiser Alpha Upper Unit Sterndrive Outdrive 1.84 (4.3L, 3.7L)


⭕ I have for sale a used, working Mercruiser Alpha upper unit with 1.84 gear ratio. This particular one came from a 4.3L V-6 engine from the 80s. The reason Im selling this unit is because I purchased a complete sterndrive a week ago but only used the lower since my engine uses a different ratio upper unit. The lower unit from that drive was installed on my boat and is fully operational so I am fairly certain there will be no issues with this upper unit either. It turns over real smooth, u joints are good with no binding, it had clean oil and was pressure tested. The pictures represent the unit you will be getting. Again, it is the upper only as shown and has the 9 9/16 long yoke. Cleaned and ready for installation.

This is the correct ratio for, and will work with, the 3.8L & 4.3 liter 6 cylinder engines as well as the 3.7 liter 4 cylinder with the long yoke (9 9/16).

This unit may also work with earlier model 470 (76-82) and 485 (80-82) models but the yoke will need to be changed to the short yoke (8 1/8).
