Niner MCR 29 MTB - New Build - Bicycles - By Owner

I started this bicycle build with a classic previously owned Niner M.C.R. (Magic Carpet Ride) frame in a rootbeer color which I fully disassembled, cleaned and inspected. Next I installed a Chris King headset and Shimano Hollowtech II bottom bracket. Adding Ritchey stem and handlebar came next along with a SLX 10 speed shifter and Avid Speed Dial 7 brake levers. I used a Ritchey seat post with a carbon fiber & titanium saddle for weather proof riding. Avid BB7 mechanical disc brakes were used with 160mm rotors and Jagwire compressionless cables. The drive train consists of Shimano SLX crankset modified to a single ring narrow/wide system using a RaceFace 32T chaining mated to a cassette using a cluster which looks like this (11.13,15,17,19,21,24,28,32,36T). The wheels were laced with silver Wheelsmith spokes and nipples on silver Alex DM18 rims. For a front hub I used a silver Shimano M525A Disc with 36 holes. In the rear I used a silver Shimano M525A also with 36 holes. I then wrapped these 29 wheels in a pair of MAXXIS Ardent 2.4 tires officially turning this bike into a 29er. Up front is a new Surly ECR fork with attachment points for racks, fenders and extra water bottle cages. Other than the frame, this bike is brand new and ready for any off-road adventure.

This bike is light, fast and nimble on any terrain. A blast to ride!
