Here is a beautiful and capable new custom mountain bike in size small (16). It is suitable for riders from 5 to about 56. The entire bike was hand built by St Thomas Bikesmith Luce Robnett, right down to the hand laced wheels. All parts are brand new and guaranteed for two years. Also all servicing and wheel truing is free for the first two years. The bike is built around the excellent Orbea Lanza alloy frame with a Surly chromoly steel fork for vibration damping. It features disc brakes front and rear as well as a Shimano Alfine 8 speed internally geared hub for fast easy shifts and simplicity of use. The enclosed gears and the corrosion preventing alloy frame is perfect for use around salty island air and ensures many years of fun riding. This is a quality professional grade bicycle at a fantastic low price.

NOTE: The Alfine 8 hub makes a great transmission for use with an electric motor so upgrading to an E-bike is a very simple procedure that involves swapping out the crankset and adding a battery frame bag. (about a two hour job)
The cost of these conversions are between $700 and $1200 at our shop on St Thomas. Price varies depending on the wattage of the electric motor and the size of the battery pack. These typically cruise at 20mph and have a range of 20-30 miles per charge. Great hill climbers!

Frame review Description

Aluminum never rode so smoothly. 7005 double-butted aluminum with precisely triangulated tube shapes gives a ride that is laterally stiff, but still forgiving. An oversized seat tube adds extra stiffness to the bottom bracket. S-bend stays take the edge off even the most rugged trails.

An attractive Spanish built frame which is very light weight and stiff as well as being ultra cool. There are not too many of these around. This is real classic mountain bike which will give you years of great riding.
