2 Antique Quilts (circa 1850) Wreath Of Roses Applique


⭕ Two antique quilts(circa 1850). Both are in the Wreath of Roses/Presidents Wreath design. Both quilts are 85x82. They were made by a mother and daughter of a local family and have been handed down. One had an appraisal done in 2002 and is valued at $2000. They are both similar in design and here is the description for it: This quilt was made of quality fabrics and the colors are of the 1850s Turkey red and green plaindyes. The needlework was finely executed. The applique pattern is known as Wreath of Roses; however, some quilts of this design have been termed Presidents Wreath. ... The condition of the quilt had some discoloration and deterioration; however, they did not distract the beauty of the quilt as a whole. The quilt is a family piece made in Upper New York State. Pictures 1 -3 are of the quilt that was appraised and asking price is $2000. Pictures 4-6 are of the second quilt and asking price is $1000. A copy of the appraisal is available. Please phone
