⭕ Unusual vintage Seth Thomas 8-day wall clock dating to 1864-65, end of Civil War. Sitting there tick-tocking away--and still chiming on the hour!

In family since before turn of 20th Century but has to go as part of an estate. Likely not another like it around.

Very distinctive case. Pillar and cornice style. Weight-driven. Uses two weights, one for time, one for chime. Eight-day brass movement.

Seen at auction and in ads at $500 or more, with somewhat nicer case. Exterior veneer shows the small surface nicks and dings that give it character and are to be expected with this kind of age. Priced to allow for cosmetic flaws at $250.

(We should all look this good at age 153 or so !) Measures about 5 1/2 deep, 33 tall, and 18 3/4 wide.

Seen by a clock professional who says the movements in these Seth Thomas clocks are known to last and last. So this one is likely good to go for a long time.
