Rare Antique Chest Of Drawers Linen Press


⭕ Great for storage of bulky items like blankets, quilts, comforters, sweaters, or (Come on summertime!) winter clothes. And it looks fantastic in the process.

I have not been able to nail down the maker of this piece. There is no makers mark and after hours of internet research I did not discover even a similar-looking piece. But I did find that the four small metal casters are stamped Faultless 5. The Faultless Caster Company (still in business) was founded in 1889 and in 1913 they moved to Evansville, IN to be near a thriving furniture manufacturing industry. Unfortunately, that industry involved dozens of companies. So, it could have been made by any one of many, maybe even Karges who specialized in high-quality, heavy, veneered bedroom suites.

This piece was professionally refinished 30 years ago with Birds Eye maple veneer and it looks as good as the day it came home. There is no structural damage and the only standout defect is a small dent where the screw for the door knob contacted the face of the middle inner drawer, as show in about the center of the last picture. Otherwise, when viewed from a certain angle, there is a small chip and some water stain rings on the top. Overall, this is an exceptionally clean piece of antique furniture.

This chest has four drawers and measures about 43 X 34 X 20. The large bottom drawer is about 28 X 15 X 7-1/2. The three inner drawers are about 26 X 15 X 6-1/2.

This fine piece of furniture is available for inspection at your convenience. Buyer pick-up is preferred but, if necessary, delivery arrangements can be made for a fee.
