Antique Carousel Horse From Walk Over Shoe Store


⭕ Circa 1891 outside row stander from the Charles Looff carousel factory in Brooklyn, NY. This handsome horse, mounted on a glider mechanism, was a treasured feature in the Walkover Shoes Workers Social Club in Brockton, MA and later, until the 1960s, a star attraction in the companys main store in the same city. In great old paint, with carved fringe and glass jewels, serpentine mane tendrils cascading down the erect neck and an unusually long forelock falling over the face. Note the Walkover name on the breast. Glass eyes and natural horsehair tail.

The horse measures 50 long x 59 high. Total measurement including the glider mechanism is 60 long x 66 high x 20 deep.
